OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s placed outfielder Stephen Piscotty on the 10-day injured list retroactive to August 25 with a sprained right ankle and selected outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s designated outfielder Nick Martini for assignment.

Piscotty returns to the injured list for the second time as he was out from June 30 to August 2 with a sprained right knee. He hit .304 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 16 games after returning from the IL and is batting .252 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI in 92 games overall with the A’s.

Martini had two stints with the A’s this year and went 1-for-11 (.091) with a home run and two RBI in six games. He was also hitting .328 with eight home runs and 42 RBI in 70 games with Las Vegas. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter signed a minor league deal with Oakland following the 2017 season and batted .296 in 55 games with the A’s in his Major League debut last year.
