OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s recalled left-handed pitcher Kyle Muller from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned left-handed pitcher Kirby Snead to Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Muller returns for his second stint with the A’s this year. He began the season as the A’s Opening Day starter and went 1-4 with an 8.04 ERA in 10 starts before he was optioned to Las Vegas on May 23. In six starts with the Aviators, he went 1-2 with a 6.59 ERA.

Snead was activated from the 60-day injured list yesterday and has not appeared in a game for the A’s this season. The 28-year-old left-hander was 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in seven games, including one start, during his rehab assignment.
