A’s reinstate RHP May from injured list; option LHP Muller to Las Vegas
OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher Trevor May from the injured list and optioned left-handed pitcher Kyle Muller to Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.
May was 2-3 with a blown save and a 12.00 ERA in eight games when he was placed on the 15-day injured list April 19 with issues related to anxiety. He was assigned to Las Vegas on a rehab assignment May 2 but made just appearance before the assignment was stopped. May resumed pitching on May 16, made three more appearances and had a 4.91 ERA (3.2 ip, 4 h, 2 r, 2 er, 2 bb, 2 so, 2 hr) in four games overall with the Aviators.
Muller was the A’s Opening Day starting pitcher but went 1-4 with an 8.04 ERA and .962 opponents OPS in 10 starts. He has allowed the most hits in the majors (69) and is tied for third in runs allowed (42).
