Aaron Judge goes 3-for-3: Yankees slugger tops most popular MLB player jersey rankings for 3rd straight season

Postseason contenders, perennial All-Stars lead Majors in jersey sales

September 27th, 2019

As his team prepares for the Postseason, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge will finish the 2019 Championship Season with the most popular player jersey in MLB for the third consecutive season of his young career.

Immediately following Judge on the list is fellow superstar outfielder Bryce Harper, who began the season with the league’s most popular jersey after his much-anticipated free agent signing with the Philadelphia Phillies. The list, released jointly today by MLB and the Major League Baseball Players Association, is based on sales of Majestic jerseys from MLBShop.com, the official online shop of Major League Baseball, since Opening Day.

For the first time since MLB player jersey rankings have been released, the nine most popular players are all under the age of 30, including Dodgers All-Star outfielder Cody Bellinger (#3/age 24), 2016 World Series Champion Javier Báez (#4/age 26), reigning National League MVP Christian Yelich (#5/age 27) and 2018 NL Rookie of the Year Ronald Acuña Jr. (#6/age 21). Pete Alonso, the 2019 T-Mobile Home Run Derby Champion, MLB home run leader and NL Rookie of the Year candidate, made his debut on the list, ranking No. 14 in MLB.

Nine clubs are represented in the top ten most popular player jerseys, while the top 20 overall includes ten infielders, seven outfielders, two pitchers and one catcher.
