ANGELS ANNOUNCE 2023 HOME OPENER FESTIVITIES

ANAHEIM – The Los Angeles Angels will host a Red Carpet Event on Friday, April 7 at Angel Stadium, headlining a number of special pregame activities and ceremonies before the Angels face the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2023 Home Opener.

Located at the Home Plate Pad (near the big red hats), the Red Carpet Event is scheduled to take place from 12:30-4:00 p.m. and feature Angels player and alumni appearances, food trucks, a live radio broadcast, the Angels Strike Force and more. The Angel Stadium gates will open following the Red Carpet Event.

Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero will throw the Honorary First Pitch prior to the game. Guerrero was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018, becoming the first player to wear an Angels hat on his Hall of Fame plaque. His son, Vladimir Jr., is a member of the opposing Toronto Blue Jays.

Additional pregame ceremonies and events include:

  • Presentation of Colors by the United States Army Color Guard
  • Flyover by the 144th Fighter Wing, a unit of the California Air National Guard, flying F-15C Eagles
  • Jill Marie Burke will perform “O Canada” and “The Star-Spangled Banner”
  • During the national anthem, 150 active and veteran local military service members will unfurl a 150’ x 300’ American Flag in the outfield
