November 3rd, 2023

TEMPE, ARIZONA – The Arizona Fall League (AFL) today announced the rosters for the 17th Fall Stars Game, which will be played at 6:00 p.m. MT (8:00 p.m. ET) on Sunday, November 5th at Sloan Park in Mesa. A combination of scouts, AFL staff and national baseball reporters selected the players for the annual showcase of baseball’s future stars. The Fall Stars Game will air live on MLB Network, MLB.com and the MLB App with Gregg Caserta (play-by-play), Rubén Amaro Jr. (analyst) and Jonathan Mayo (analyst) on the call.

The American and National League rosters are made up of players from the Mesa Solar Sox (BAL, CHC, HOU, OAK, NYY), Salt River Rafters (ARI, ATL, COL, DET, PIT), Scottsdale Scorpions (LAA, PHI, SF, STL, WSH), Glendale Desert Dogs (BOS, CWS, LAD, MIN, NYM), Peoria Javelinas (CLE, MIA, SD, SEA, TB) and Surprise Saguaros (CIN, KC, MIL, TEX, TOR).

Managers Carlos Cardoza (Houston Astros organization–American) of the Saguaros and Marty Malloy (Philadelphia Phillies organization–National) of the Scorpions, along with their respective coaching staffs, will manage the game since their AFL teams have the best record in their respective leagues at the time of selection.

Cardoza is in his second year as a Fall League coach, having served as an Extra Coach during the Saguaros’ 2022 AFL Championship run. He also was part of the American League’s Fall Stars coaching staff in 2022. Malloy is in his first AFL season and has paced the Scorpions into a current playoff spot.

In a fan-selected vote, one additional player for each team was added via the “Fall Stars Final 2 Vote.” Max Muncy (Oakland Athletics-American) Nasim Nunez (Miami Marlins-National) were selected as Fall Stars.
