Astros inaugural Hall of Fame Weekend highlights upcoming five-game homestand

Astros Hall of Fame Weekend, presented by Houston Methodist, includes inaugural HOF Induction Ceremony (8/3), Alumni Home Run Derby (8/4) and gate giveaways Friday - Sunday!

HOUSTON, TX – Baseball returns to Minute Maid Park tomorrow for a special commemorative weekend, Astros Hall of Fame Weekend, presented by Houston Methodist. For the first time in franchise history, sixteen members will be inducted into the Astros Hall of Fame, prior the Saturday’s game. Previously known as Legends Weekend, Hall of Fame Weekend will celebrate the Astros history with many alumni in attendance. To help celebrate, Hall of Fame themed promotional items will be given out to select fans in attendance Friday - Sunday, including a Nolan Ryan Replica Rainbow Shoulder Jersey, presented by Houston Methodist (ALL FANS on Friday), an Astros HOF Plaque Monument, presented by Houston Methodist (10,000 fans on Saturday) and a Replica Astros HOF Jacket Statue, presented by Houston Methodist (10,000 fans on Sunday).

Note - Select members or representatives of the 2019 Hall of Fame Class will be available to the media on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the press conference room at Minute Maid Park.

In addition, a new ALL FANS gate giveaway has been added for Tuesday, August 6! To welcome one of the newest members to the team during his first start as an Astro, all fans with a ticket to Tuesday’s game will receive a Zack Greinke orange t-shirt, as they enter the gates. Fans can secure potential 2019 Postseason tickets by purchasing 2020 Season Tickets, available now by emailing [email protected] or calling 713-259-8402. Group tickets and suite rentals are available for select games, and single game tickets are available for all games. TICKET AND GATE ENTRY POLICIES

As a reminder regarding tickets, all fans must either have their printed tickets in hand or utilize the MLB Ballpark App on their mobile devices to access Minute Maid Park and any Astros Street Fests. PDFs, screenshots or any photos of tickets on a mobile device will NOT be accepted, and the Astros will not be able to print tickets on-site.

As a part of the Astros ongoing commitment to the safety of all fans and in compliance with Astros security policies and other sports and entertainment venues around the country, there is no re-entry into the ballpark once fans are scanned in. Fans will also not be allowed to bring multi-zipper backpacks into the ballpark. Exceptions to this rule include diaper bags, single-compartment drawstring bags and other bags used for medical reasons. As usual, all bags will be searched prior to entry into the stadium.

In our continued effort to expedite entry and decrease the amount of time fans wait in line to get into the ballpark, the Astros have added a new entrance at Home Plate and increased the total amount of metal detectors at the entrances. Fans are still encouraged to arrive early, in order to avoid long lines and delays.

Friday, August 2 vs. Seattle Mariners 7:10 p.m.

Prior to Friday’s game, ALL FANS in attendance will receive a Nolan Ryan Replica Rainbow Shoulder Jersey, presented by Houston Methodist, as they enter the gates. As a reminder, for all Monday - Saturday gate giveaways dates, all gates will open three (3) hours prior to First Pitch. Throughout the season, every Friday night home game at Minute Maid Park is part of the Big and Bright Friday Nights series. A special Pregame Happy Hour, presented by Budweiser, will take place at the Budweiser Brew House. Fans can enjoy $6, 16oz Budweiser Signature Draft beer specials, a live DJ, corn hole, jenga, and more from the time gates open until 6:30 p.m. before every Friday night home game. Fans can also participate in the Friday Night Beer Crawl, presented by Budweiser, which includes four unique Minute Maid Park locations with a different beer options at each location. Ballpark beer crawl starts when gates open and ends at the end of the 7th inning. Beer crawl locations will be listed on Astros.com/happyhour. Must be 21 years or older to participate. Fans are encouraged to drink responsibly.

To cap off ** Big and Bright Friday Night**, fans are invited to stay after the game for Friday Night Fireworks, presented by ConocoPhillips. This Friday’s fireworks will be synced to iconic Astros alumni walk-up songs, in celebration of Hall of Fame Weekend. Upon conclusion of Friday’s game and prior to the start of Friday Night Fireworks, fans will be asked to move from the following sections for their safety and enjoyment: Home Run Alley, Escalator Tower Stairs in Center Field, Budweiser Brew House Tiers, Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar, Torchy’s Deck, Crawford Boxes and sections 100-109, 205-208, 305-309, and 405-409. FANtastic Fridays makes its return this year. Each week, fans can stop by a predetermined location and win prizes or tickets and interact with the Astros Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew. This week’s FANtastic Friday will take place at H-E-B at 6430 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521.

Saturday, August 3 vs. Seattle Mariners - 6:10 p.m.

On Sunday, fans are encouraged to take their seats early to watch the 2019 Alumni Home Run Derby! The pregame event will take place 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m., featuring Geoff Blum, Luke Scott, Brian Bogusevic, and Brandon Backe. Astros bullpen catcher Javier Bracamonte will throw for the home run derby, which will be emceed by Astros radio broadcaster Steve Sparks.

Following Sunday’s afternoon contest, young Astros fans 5-12 are invited to participate in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Securian Financial. The line for Kids Run the Bases will begin at Section 131/132 starting in the 8th inning.

Tuesday, August 6 vs. Colorado Rockies - 7:10 p.m.

Prior to Friday’s game, ALL FANS in attendance will have the opportunity to receive TWO gate giveaways! Fans with a 8/6 game ticket will not only receive a pack of TOPPS Baseball Cards, presented by TOPPS, but also a newly announced Zack Greinke t-shirt, as Greinke takes the hill for the first time as an Astro. Wednesday, August 7 vs. Colorado Rockies - 1:10 p.m.

The Astros Youth Academy is proud to announce that several athletes have received the opportunity to continue playing baseball or softball at the collegiate level. In recognition of their achievements, the Astros Foundation and Youth Academy will host a mock “Signing Day” on Wednesday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m., prior to the Astros vs. Rockies game. The signing will be held in the Depot, on the second floor of Union Station. The student athletes will also be recognized on the field in a pregame ceremony.
