Astros Youth Academy to host Scout Day on MLK Day

Pro and college scouts invited to see high school players from Academy

January 15th, 2022

HOUSTON, TX – The Astros Youth Academy will once again host “Scout Day” on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, Jan. 17). This annual event provides pro and college scouts the opportunity to see some of the top, high school-age baseball players that are members of the Astros Youth Academy.

Participants will showcase their throwing, hitting, fielding and running skills as part of the workout, which begins at 9:30 a.m. and will last until approximately noon.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Prior to the players taking the field on Monday, the Astros Foundation will make a special check presentation to the St. Monica Catholic Church Food Pantry in the memory of Craig Adams, a former Astros Youth Academy instructor that sadly passed away in August. The donation is part of the 2021 Chick-fil-A Bases Loaded Program, a community partnership with the Astros Foundation to each pledge 1,000 meals to local food pantries every time the Astros loaded the bases at home at Minute Mark during the 2021 regular season.
