A’s recall RHP Tanner Anderson from Las Vegas; option OF Nick Martini

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s recalled right-handed pitcher Tanner Anderson from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned outfielder Nick Martini to Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Anderson joins the A’s for the second time in 2019 as he went 0-3 with a 6.04 ERA and .309 opponents batting average in five starts during his first stint from June 10 to July 4. He made two starts with Las Vegas following his July 5 option, both wins, and allowed three runs on 10 hits and nine walks in 10.1 innings. The 26-year-old right-hander is 6-4 with a 5.54 ERA and .293 opponents average in 13 games, 12 starts, overall with the Aviators. Anderson had a .253 average against right-handed hitters compared to .349 against left-handers, and he held the opposition to a .197 average with runners in scoring position.

Martini was recalled from Las Vegas yesterday and went 0-for-2 with a strikeout in his 2019 debut. He also pitched a scoreless eighth inning, walking two and striking out one. Martini is batting .343 with four home runs, 33 RBI and a .443 on-base percentage in 54 games with the Aviators.
