A's to participate in 2020 Big League Weekend

Oakland will join Indians, Reds, Cubs in Spring Training games at Las Vegas Ballpark

November 12th, 2019

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s will participate in the 2020 Big League Weekend, facing off against Cleveland in a two-game series, Feb. 29-March 1 at Las Vegas Ballpark, the regular season home of the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators.

This will mark Oakland’s sixth Big League Weekend appearance and first since 2015. The Cincinnati Reds will also face the Chicago Cubs in Las Vegas in a two-game series, March 7-8, as part of Big League Weekend. In 2019 Big League Weekend, a Las Vegas staple since the early 1990s, took a one-year hiatus due to the construction of the Las Vegas Ballpark. The new facility was named 2019 Ballpark of the Year by BaseballParks.com and led Minor League Baseball in total attendance.

The A’s first spring workout will take place on Feb. 12, and Cactus League play will begin on Saturday, Feb. 22, when the A’s visit the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park. The A’s will host 16 games at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, including matchups versus the Giants (Sunday, Feb. 23), Cubs (Monday, March 2 & Saturday, March 21), and Dodgers (Thursday, March 5).

Big League Weekend ticket packages are available now by calling the Las Vegas Aviators box office at (702) 939-7200. Single game tickets will be available after the first of the new year.
