The Toronto Blue Jays begin a seven-game homestand on Friday night, highlighted by the return of Blue Jays Caribbean Carnival as the team takes on the Los Angeles Angels (7:07 p.m.). Following the weekend series, the division rival Baltimore Orioles come to town for a four-game series that includes the seventh Loonie Dogs Night of the season, a special player giveaway, and a weekday afternoon game.
Here is what fans can look forward to at the ballpark this week:
- Turn up the Soca and get ready for the city’s Caribbean Carnival festivities with the Blue Jays! The second-annual Blue Jays Caribbean Carnival returns on Friday (7:07 p.m.) in collaboration with Toronto Caribbean Carnival, featuring Caribbean Mas bands, Soca music, and performances directly from the festival. The 2023 King and Queen and individual winners will throw the ceremonial first pitch and have their award-winning costumes on display. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the celebrations, with the first 15,000 receiving a Carnival-themed Blue Jays Terrycloth Bucket Hat giveaway. In addition to live entertainment and costumes, there will be activities, specialty food and drinks, photo opportunities, and Carnival décor all around the ballpark.
- The second specialty ticket of the season calls all “Deadheads” to the ballpark for Grateful Dead Day on Saturday, July 29 (3:07 p.m.). Specialty ticket purchasers receive a game ticket plus an exclusive guaranteed Blue Jays Grateful Dead T-shirt giveaway.
- Jays Sundays rounds out the weekend with an early game on Sunday, July 30 (12:05 p.m. first pitch). Programming starts at 10 a.m. with outdoor programming running until first pitch featuring inflatables, activities, and performances outside gates 5 to 11 along Bremner Blvd. In addition, kids 14-and-under can run the bases postgame. - Blue Jays fans know Tuesdays are for Loonie Dogs presented by Schneiders, after consuming a record-breaking 75,173 hot dogs during the last event on July 18. Fans are on pace to shatter the 2022 record of 444,854 for total dogs consumed – come out to the ballpark on Tuesday, Aug. 1 (7:07 p.m.) to help make it happen!
- Dress like the Hound on the Mound! On Wednesday, Aug. 2 (7:07 p.m.), the first 15,000 fans receive a Chris Bassitt Camo Jersey T-shirt giveaway presented by Jeep.
- Get ready for the long weekend by heading to the ballpark for a weekday afternoon game on Thursday, Aug. 3 (3:07 p.m.) as the Blue Jays close out the homestand against the Orioles.
