The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed C BEAU TAYLOR off waivers from the OAKLAND ATHLETICS and he has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

TAYLOR, 29, has played in nine Major League games for the Athletics this season, batting .182 (4-for-22) with four walks, two home runs and two RBI. The 5-11, 205 lb. left-handed hitting catcher has spent most of 2019 with Triple-A Las Vegas, where he has hit .257 with 13 doubles, one triple, eight home runs and 32 RBI in 62 games. He was selected by Oakland in the fifth round of the 2011 amateur draft. Over nine Minor League seasons, the native of Rockledge, FL has combined for .259 average with 185 extra-base hits and 334 RBI across 700 games.
