Blue Jays roster moves

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have recalled RHP YENNSY DIAZ from Double-A New Hampshire and he will be active on the Major League roster for tonight’s game. RHP NICK KINGHAM has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.

DIAZ, 22, was signed by the Blue Jays as an international free agent on July 3, 2014. The 6-1, 202 lb. right-handed pitcher has posted an 8-7 record with a 4.15 ERA across 19 starts and two relief appearances for Double-A New Hampshire this year. He started 2018 with Class-A Lansing and put up a 5-1 record with a 2.08 ERA and a .135 opponents’ batting average across nine starts with the Lugnuts, while claiming Midwest League Player of the Month for April, then completed the campaign with a 3.52 ERA across 18 outings for Advanced-A Dunedin. The native of Azua, Dominican Republic is 31-24 with a 3.95 ERA (197 ER/449.1 IP) in 91 career Minor League games (79 starts).
