The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with LHP Robbie Ray on a one-year contract (US $8,000,000).

Ray, 29, was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Diamondbacks on August 31, 2020. The 6-2, 215 lb. left-hander posted a 4.79 ERA in his five regular season games with Toronto to finish his campaign with a 6.62 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 51.2 innings of work. The native of Brentwood, TN, pitched in Game 1 of the ALWC in Tampa, allowing one run across three innings while fanning five hitters. Over seven Major League seasons, the 2017 All-Star has amassed a 49-51 record and a 4.26 ERA while recording 1,042 strikeouts over 842.1 innings.
