The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with INF Joe Panik on a Minor League contract with an invite to 2021 Major League Spring Training.
Panik, 30, batted .225 with six doubles, a home run, and seven RBI for the Blue Jays last season. The native of Yonkers, NY, split his 41 games between second base, third base, and shortstop and was charged with just one error as he kept a .990 fielding percentage.
The 29th overall selection of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft by San Francisco, he finished sixth in NL Rookie of the Year voting and went on to win a World Series ring with the Giants in 2014. Over the course of seven Major League seasons, the 2015 All-Star and 2016 Gold Glove winner has batted .269 with 185 extra-base hits in 723 contests.
