Brewers and their corporate partners team up for charity

August 14th, 2020

MILWAUKEE – The 2020 season may look different, but one thing that has not changed is the Brewers and their corporate partners commitment to support numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Club’s charitable arm, Brewers Community Foundation.

Associated Bank Hits for Hunger – For every hit by a Brewers player during the 2020 season, Associated Bank and Brewers Community Foundation will team up to make a $150 donation to Feeding America to fight hunger. In 2019, the Hits for Hunger campaign resulted in a $100,000 donation to Feeding America which equals one million meals given to families in need.

Gruber Law Offices Outs for Hope – With every out recorded by the Brewers bullpen at Miller Park, Gruber Law Offices will make a donation to the MACC Fund in support of research to end childhood cancer and related blood disorders. Together, the Brewers bullpen and Gruber Law Offices can help send cancer back to the bench and give more children hope of playing out the next innings of their lives. This is the second season for this initiative.

Monkey Knife Fight Home Runs for BCF – If you look towards the right field bleachers at Miller Park during the 2020 season, you may notice a section of knife-wielding primates in wild Brewers attire. These monkeys, though a bit out of the ordinary, are there for a good cause. For every home run at Miller Park in the 2020 season that hits one of the monkeys, by either the Brewers or a visiting team, Monkey Knife Fight, the official daily fantasy site of the Brewers, will make a $10,000 donation to Brewers Community Foundation.

ORBIS Double Plays – For the sixth consecutive season, ORBIS Corporation® will sponsor the ORBIS Double Play campaign. During the 2020 regular season, ORBIS will donate $150 to Brewers Community Foundation for every double play turned by the Crew at Miller Park.

Palermo’s Pizza® Scoring First for Families – Palermo’s Pizza strengthens its commitment to hunger relief and supporting families in need through the Palermo’s Pizza® Scoring First for Families initiative. Each regular season home game when the Brewers earn a run before the visiting team, Palermo’s® will donate 1,000 frozen pizzas to Hunger Task Force.

Players for the Planet Save the Ocean supported by SC Johnson, Brent Suter, Corey Knebel and the Milwaukee Brewers – For every save recorded by the Brewers this season, SC Johnson, Brent Suter, Corey Knebel and the Brewers will team up to donate $1,000 to the Players for the Planet Save the Ocean program. Donations from the program will allow Players for the Planet to host 12 beach clean-ups with local MLB youth development programs in the Dominican Republic, once public health conditions allow. These clean-ups will result in the collection and recycling of 3,000 pounds of ocean-bound plastic, all while engaging 1,500 youth with ocean conservation education programming. This is the inaugural season for the campaign supported by SC Johnson and the Brewers and the third year for the Players for the Planet MLB-sponsored beach clean-up in the Dominican Republic.

Sargento Double Helping for Hunger – As a family-owned company, Sargento roots for the home team and our local communities. With the Sargento Double Helping for Hunger campaign, Sargento will donate $200 to Hunger Task Force for every double hit by the Brewers during the 2020 season. Since the program began in 2018, Sargento has donated more than $70,000 to feed families in need. Sargento, the Official Cheese of the Brewers, is proud to turn doubles into dollars and along with Christian Yelich, raise awareness of the importance of fighting hunger in this time of need.

We Energies Ks for a Cause – We Energies Foundation will donate $25 to Journey House for every strikeout recorded by a Brewers pitcher at Miller Park this season. Journey House empowers families on Milwaukee’s near Southside to move out of poverty by offering adult education, youth development, workforce readiness and family engagement. This is We Energies Foundation’s fourth year sponsoring Ks for a Cause. We Energies is also a member of the Brewers Community Foundation Leadership Council.

Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) – In addition to the many season-long charitable programs, a number of Brewers corporate partners are also significant financial supporters of Brewers Community Foundation as members of the BCF Leadership Council. This list includes Aurora Health Care, Delta Dental, Johnson Controls, MillerCoors, Northwestern Mutual, We Energies and West Bend Mutual Insurance Company.

BCF harnesses the pride, passion and commitment of Brewers fans, players and other supporters to positively impact the lives of children and their families in the Greater Milwaukee area and throughout Wisconsin. Over the past ten years, BCF has generated more than $42 million to support local nonprofits in the areas of health, education, recreation and basic needs. In 2019, approximately 200 nonprofit organizations received funding through the Foundation’s initiatives.
