Brewers name Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for May

Brown Jr. Named Player of the Month; Misiorowski Earns Pitcher of the Month

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have named infielder Eric Brown Jr. as Minor League Player of the Month and right-handed pitcher Jacob Misiorowski as Minor League Pitcher of the Month for May.
 
Brown Jr., 22, hit .344 (31-for-90) with 5 doubles, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 19 runs and 13 stolen bases over 23 games for Class-A Wisconsin in May. He carried a .439 on-base percentage for the month, drawing 14 walks with just 15 strikeouts in 107 plate appearances.
 
Selected in the first round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, Brown Jr. ranked among May leaders in the Midwest League in stolen bases (2nd, 13), on-base percentage (3rd, .439), hits (T3rd, 31), batting average (4th, .344), runs (T4th, 19), OPS (6th, .906) and total bases (9th, 42).
 
Brown Jr. recorded eight multi-hit games in May, including going 4-for-5 on May 23 and May 25 at Cedar Rapids. He started the month reaching in 14 consecutive games as part of a 17-game on-base streak that stretched from April 23 through May 19. It is the longest on-base streak by a Timber Rattlers player this season.
 
Misiorowski, 21, went 1-1 with a 3.27 ERA (22ip, 8er) with 38 strikeouts in 6 starts for Class-A Carolina in May. Opponents batted just .101 (7-for-69) against Misiorowski in May, while he posted a 15.55 K/9 rate.  
 
He led the Carolina League in starts (6) and strikeouts (38) and ranked second in opponent batting average (.101) and third in WHIP (0.82).
 
Picked in the second round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, Misiorowski struck out at least 5 batters in 5 of his 6 starts in May, including posting a career-high 9 strikeouts over 5.0 scoreless innings on May 25 at Down East.
