CHICAGO, Ill. – September 5, 2020 – Prior to today’s doubleheader with the Chicago Cubs, the St. Louis Cardinals placed left-handed pitcher Kwang Hyun Kim on the 10-day Injured List, retroactive to September 2. Left-handed pitcher Andrew Miller was activated from the 10-day Injured List and RHP Nabil Crismatt was added as the 29th man for the doubleheader.

Kim, 32, had appeared in five games this season, last pitching a five-inning start on September 1 at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. The rookie southpaw from South Korea has made four starts and posted a 2-0 record with an 0.83 ERA and one save over 21.2 innings pitched. His 0.44 ERA over his first four starts marked the lowest ERA by a rookie left-handed pitcher since Fernando Valenzuela in 1981. Kim had not allowed an earned run in his last 17.0 innings pitched.

Crismatt, 25, was recalled from the Cardinals Alternate Training Site in Springfield, Mo., and will be active tonight as the 29th man in the doubleheader. The rookie right-hander has not been scored upon in two Major League appearances this season, both at Wrigley Field. He made his Major League debut in the stadium on August 17 in the second game of a doubleheader.
