Colorado Rockies 8.13.19 transactions

The Rockies announced today that they have selected the contract of catcher Dom Nuñez from Triple-A Albuquerque and have recalled right-handed pitcher Jeff Hoffman, who will start for the Rockies tonight, from Triple-A. Additionally, they have optioned right-handed pitcher Chi Chi González to Triple-A and have designated catcher Chris Iannetta for assignment. Nuñez Stats Hoffman Stats

Iannetta was originally selected by the Rockies in the fourth round of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft, and made his Major League debut with Colorado on Aug. 27, 2006 vs. San Diego … he was traded to Los Angeles-AL on Nov. 30, 2011 in exchange for RHP Tyler Chatwood, and then returned to Colorado on a two-year contract signed on Dec. 8, 2017 following his stints with Los Angeles-AL (2012-15), Seattle (2016) and Arizona (2017).

He is the all-time franchise leader among catchers in games played (620), runs scored (252), hits (435), home runs (80), RBI (293) and walks (309), accomplished over parts of eight seasons (2006-11, 2018-19) with the Rockies.

Over his Major League career, which has spanned parts of 14 seasons, he has batted .230 (280-for-3,563) with 449 runs, 181 doubles, 11 triples, 141 home runs, 502 RBI, 576 walks and 11 stolen bases.
