dbacks.com draws more than 83,000 homepage views during intrasquad live webcast

Tomorrow’s intrasquad game at 6:00 p.m. will serve as second webcast of #DbacksSummerCamp

PHOENIX – The Arizona Diamondbacks homepage, dbacks.com, saw more than 83,000 page views during last night’s intrasquad webcast, the first time live action has been viewable from Chase Field since the restart of baseball. Tomorrow night, the D-backs (@Dbacks @LosDbacks) will host another dbacks.com webcast beginning at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday and Monday, the team’s exhibition games will be available on FOX Sports Arizona and 98.7 Arizona’s Sports Station from Dodger Stadium.

“Our players and staff on site have prioritized safety above all else, which has allowed us to bring baseball into the homes of our fans,” said D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall. “These numbers are a great indication of the viewing audience that will follow during the 60-game regular season and hopefully beyond.”

From 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. last night, the dbacks.com homepage saw 83,382 views including more than 35,000 at 6:00 p.m., when the first pitch of the intrasquad was thrown. In the past 60 days, it was the most-watched video on dbacks.com by more than 60 percent over the second most-watched video.

Steve Berthiaume and Bob Brenly called the action last night, as they will for all FSAZ games this season, while tomorrow night’s game will feature the radio team of Greg Schulte and Tom Candiotti on the call. The duo will team up with Mike Ferrin for all regular season broadcasts on 98.7 Arizona’s Sports Station and ESPN 620 AM.

After the two-game exhibition series @ Los Angeles (July 19 at 6:10 p.m. and July 20 at 6:40 p.m.), the D-backs will open the season on July 24 @ Padres, marking the first time in franchise history that the team has started a season in San Diego. The home opener will be held at Chase Field on July 30 vs. Dodgers.

All games will be carried on FOX Sports Arizona or FOX Sports Arizona Plus and streamed on the FOX Sports GO app with the exception of Aug. 6 vs. Houston, which was selected as a FOX national television game. On radio, all regular season games will be available on 98.7 Arizona’s Sports Station or ESPN 620 AM in English and TUDN 105.1 FM in Spanish.
