D-backs roster moves

The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves:

Selected RHP Peter Solomon from Triple-A Reno.
• 26 years old | B/T: R/R | 6’4”/211
• Will wear No. 58.
• Will be his first Major League action since 2021 (6 relief appearances with the Astros).
• This season, made 1 start at Triple-A Reno on April 4 @ Tacoma (L, 3.1 IP, 5 R-4 ER, 3 H, 3 BB, 5 K).

Acquired RHP José Ruiz from the White Sox for cash considerations. Ruiz will not report today. He was designated for assignment on April 7.
• 28 years old | B/T: R/R | 6’1”/245
• Will wear No. 66.
• This season, made 4 relief appearances for the White Sox.
• In 2022, made 63 relief appearances for the White Sox and went 1-0 with a 4.60 ERA (31 ER in 60.2 IP), .231 opponent average and 68 strikeouts.
• Has seen Major League action over the last 7 seasons with the Padres (2017) and White Sox (2018-23)…in 178 career appearances (1 start), is 3-7 with a 4.53 ERA (90 ER in 178.2 IP), .253 opponent average and 181 strikeouts.

Placed RHP Zach Davies (strained left oblique) on the 15-day injured list.

Transferred RHP Mark Melancon (strained right shoulder) to the 60-day injured list.

Transferred RHP Cole Sulser (strained right shoulder) to the 60-day injured list.
