The Arizona Diamondbacks will celebrate Mexican Heritage Night highlighted by a postgame concert featuring Grupo Laberinto and a pregame ceremony with the Mexican Pacific ARCO League on Saturday, August 20.
Grupo Laberinto has performed their versatile and extensive repertoire of danceable music on some of the biggest stages in the United States and Mexico over the last 35 years and been given the nickname “El Orgullo de Sonora” – “The Pride of Sonora.” The 15-member band has released 38 albums and counting. The band will also perform the Mexican National Anthem pregame in celebration.
The D-backs will host the 10 teams from the Mexican Pacific ARCO League (Liga Arco Mexicana Del Pacifico) for a special pregame recognition, including the ceremonial first pitch by the League Commissioner Carlos Manrique, appearances by the team mascots, and more. The league is comprised of Águilas de Mexicali, Algodoneros de Guasave, Cañeros de Los Mochis, Charros de Jalisco, Mayos de Navojoa, Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Sultanes de Monterrey, Tomateros de Culiacán, Venados de Mazatlán and Yaquis de Obregón.
Fans will be treated to pre- and in-game performances by La Banda La Llegadora. For the third time at Chase Field, the Glendale-based banda will play live music from the Bleachers to create an atmosphere like baseball games in Mexico.
