PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks traded LHP Andrew Chafin and cash considerations to the Cubs for a player to be named or cash considerations.

Chafin, 30, played 7 seasons (2014-20) for the D-backs. In 337 career appearances (3 starts), he was 10-12 with 2 saves, a 3.68 ERA (111 ER in 271.2 IP), .238 opponent average and 288 strikeouts. His 337 appearances are second all-time to Brad Ziegler (377) on the D-backs’ all-time list. He was the D-backs’ supplemental first-round pick (43rd overall) in the 2011 draft.
