Dodgers Activate of A.J. Pollock

LHP Adam Mccreery and C Josh Thole Traded to Angels for Cash Considerations

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers today activated outfielder A.J. Pollock from the 60-day injured list. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers traded left-handed pitcher Adam McCreery and catcher Josh Thole to the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations.

 Pollock, 31, has been on the injured list with since April 30 after missing over two months with right elbow inflammation. Prior to the injury, Pollock was batting .223 (23-for-109) with two homers and 14 RBI in 28 games with the Dodgers. The former Notre Dame alum appeared in five rehab games for Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga, batting .077 (1-for-13) with a homer and an RBI. The former 2015 All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner is a career .279 (663-for-2380) hitter with 76 homers and 278 RBI. 

 McCreery, 26, in his first season with the Dodgers appeared in 30 games between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City. He went 2-1 with a 4.04 ERA (16 ER/35.2 IP) and 39 strikeouts. In his minor league career, he is 10-11 with a 3.51 ERA (88 ER/225.1 IP) and 282 strikeouts in 163 games.

 Thole, 32, appeared in 47 games between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City this season. He batted a combined .245 (34-for-139) with one homer and 14 RBI. The backstop has played in 478 Major League games, batting .242 (323-for-1336) with nine homers and 111 RBI.
