Dodgers pitcher Tyler Anderson added to NL All-Star roster

July 16th, 2022

LOS ANGELES – Major League Baseball announced this morning that Dodger pitcher Tyler Anderson will be added to the National League All-Star roster as a replacement for San Francisco Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon.

Anderson, 32, is 10-1 with a 2.96 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 17 games this season. The former Oregon Duck began the season in the bullpen before starting his last 15 games and winning nine of his last 10 starts. He and fellow teammate Tony Gonsolin are the only pair of teammates with 10+ wins on the season and first Dodger duo to record 10+ wins prior to the All-Star Break since 2017, when Alex Wood and Clayton Kershaw accomplished the feat.

He joins, Gonsolin, Kershaw, Mookie Betts and Trea Turner as Dodger representatives at the Midsummer Classic. The Dodgers have five players on the National Leagues roster, which is second most in the NL, trailing only the Atlanta Braves who are sending six players to the Midsummer Classic.

The 92nd Midsummer Classic will be hosted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and played at Dodger Stadium for the first time since 1980 and will be televised nationally by FOX Sports; in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and RDS; and worldwide by partners in more than 180 countries. FOX Deportes will provide Spanish language coverage in the United States. ESPN Radio will provide exclusive national radio coverage of the All-Star Game, while Univision will provide Spanish language coverage on radio. MLB Network, MLB.com and SiriusXM also will provide comprehensive All-Star Week coverage.
