Dodgers recall RHP Mitch White

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Mitch White and placed right-handed pitcher Jimmie Sherfy on the injured list with right elbow inflammation. 

White, 25, will be recalled for the fifth time this season and 0-0 with a 3.93 ERA (8 ER/18.1 IP) and 19 strikeouts in 13 games for the Dodgers. The righty appeared in seven games for Oklahoma City, posting a 1-0 record with a 1.42 ERA (3 ER/19.0 IP). The former second rounder out of Santa Clara University is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA (8 ER/21.1 IP) in 15 career MLB games. In five minor league seasons with the Dodgers, he is a combined 15-15 with a 3.82 ERA and 333 strikeouts in 82 games (71 starts).

Sherfy, 29, appeared in last night’s game, allowing three runs on two hits in 1.0 inning. In parts of four big league seasons with the Diamondbacks (2017-19) and Giants (2021), the Thousand Oaks native is 5-1 with a 3.28 ERA (23 ER/60.1 IP) and 60 strikeouts in 57 career games. In 288 minor league relief appearances, Sherfy is 21-17 with a 3.51 ERA and 93 saves. He was originally drafted in the 10th round of the 2013 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Oregon.
