Dodgers recall Zach McKinstry, select Carson Fulmer

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry, selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Carson Fulmer, optioned right-handed pitcher Andre Jackson and placed right-handed pitcher Mitch White on the Covid IL. 

McKinstry, 27, will be recalled for the third time and he is 0-for-1 in one game with the Dodgers. In 15 games for Oklahoma City, he is batting .361 (22-for-61) with three doubles, four triples, one homer and 10 RBI. In two Major League seasons with the Dodgers, he has hit a combined .217 with 10 doubles, seven homers and 29 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 33rd round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Central Michigan University. 

Fulmer, 28, has appeared in eight games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 2.31 ERA (3 ER/11.2 IP) with 12 strikeouts and an opponents’ batting average of .128. The former Vanderbilt alum has spent parts of six Major League seasons with Chicago-AL (2016-19), Detroit (2020), Baltimore (2020) and Cincinnati (2021) and he is a combined 6-9 with a 6.41 ERA (93 ER/130.2 IP) and 118 strikeouts in 74 games (15 starts). He signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers on December 8, 2021. 

Jackson, 25, did not appear in a game in his first stint with the Dodgers. In three starts for the Dodgers’ Triple-A affiliate, he went 0-0 with a 0.84 ERA (1 ER/10.2 IP) and nine strikeouts. He made his Major League debut last season with the Dodgers, appearing in three games, allowing three runs in 11.2 innings, and striking out 10. He has been with the Dodgers organization since being drafted in the 12th round of the 2017 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Utah and he is a combined 15-12 with a 3.43 ERA (110 ER/288. 2IP) and 327 strikeouts in 68 minor league games (64 starts). 

White, 27, has appeared in four games for the Dodgers this season, going 0-0 with a 4.50 ERA (4 ER/8.0 IP) and eight strikeouts this season. In three seasons with the Dodgers, he is a combined 2-3 with a 3.59 ERA (23 ER/57.2 IP) and 59 strikeouts. The Northern California native was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Santa Clara University.
