The D-backs’ Wild Card Race comes home to an electric, playoff-like atmosphere at Chase Field for five critical games against a pair of contenders in the Chicago Cubs (Sept. 15-17) and San Francisco Giants (Sept. 19-20). Fans are expected to pack the house for this weekend’s matchup against the Cubs, who hold the second spot in the Wild Card Race, less than a week after the D-backs took three of four games in Chicago last weekend. Saturday’s game features another highly-sought-after giveaway as the Serpientes Cap, courtesy of Pepsi, will be given away to the first 15,000 fans. The series garnered national attention as the series finale will be the featured matchup for ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, the D-backs first such broadcast since 2018, scheduled for a 4:10 p.m. first pitch.

The D-backs will then host their NL West division rival Giants, among the teams battling for a Wild Card spot, for a night-day, two-game series on Tuesday and Wednesday. The D-backs won three of four games during a four-game home series in mid-May and are 9-4 in 13 home games over the last two seasons against the Giants.
