Four Minor League players suspended
The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that four Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Washington Nationals Minor League pitcher Steven Fuentes, who is currently on the roster of the Double-A Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League, has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Heptaminol, a stimulant in violation of the Program.
Detroit Tigers Minor League shortstop Pavin Parks, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Tigers, has received a 52-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Trenbolone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program.
Tigers Minor League first baseman Reynaldo Rivera, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A West Michigan Whitecaps of the Midwest League, has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Trenbolone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program.
Cincinnati Reds Minor League outfielder Nate Scantlin, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League, has received a 100-game suspension following a third positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program.
The suspensions of all four players are effective immediately.
