Grammy Award-winning artist Yandel to throw out first pitch and local musician Calen Santos will sing national anthem at Marlins home opener – April 14 At loanDepot park
Festivities continue over the weekend, with Jackie Robinson Day, post-game karaoke at the Biscayne Bay Brew Hall, kid’s giveaway, and Sunday Funday family activities
MIAMI – Marlins baseball is here! Adding to the excitement is today’s announcement that Grammy Award winning artist and distinguished Puerto Rican artist Yandel will take the mound on April 14 to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Marlins Home Opener. Yandel, who is set for his closing tour as the duo Wisin & Yandel, has delivered various multi-platinum hits over his 15-year career. Local artist Calen Santos, who is a name to watch in the music industry, will perform the national anthem.
Entrances for the Home Opener will open at 4:30 p.m., with festivities beginning on the West Plaza and carrying over to the Biscayne Bay Brew Hall. Fans should arrive early as pre-game ceremonies begin at 6 p.m. The first 8,000 fans attending the Home Opener will receive a 2022 Magnet Schedule presented by loanDepot. Following the game, fans are encouraged to stay in their seats for the inaugural post-game LED light show.
The celebration continues over the weekend, with the following festivities:
-- The Marlins, along with Major League Baseball, will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day on Friday, which marks the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking Baseball’s color barrier.
-- Following Friday’s game, fans can head to the Biscayne Bay Brew Hall to show off their talent with karaoke.
-- Fans can score a ticket and food credit with the Ticket + offer, which is available on Friday and Sunday.
-- Families can enjoy Sunday Funday at loanDepot park, which features activities throughout the game on the Skyline Terrace, photo opportunity with Billy The Marlin, and the ability to run the bases post-game as part of the UHealth Diamond Dash.
-- The first 5,000 kids ages 14 and under on Sunday will receive a Kids Short Sleeve Hoodie presented by Sedano’s.
-- In celebration of Easter Sunday, the Easter Bunny will be available for photos with Billy The Marlin, and Home Run Rewards members will have the opportunity to take the field for a post-game Easter Egg Hunt.
