Indians place OF Jordan Luplow on injured list; OF Greg Allen recalled from Columbus

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following transactions relative to the 2019 Major League roster:

Placed OF JORDAN LUPLOW (right hamstring strain) on the 10-day Injured List.

Recalled OF GREG ALLEN (#1) from AAA Columbus.

Allen, 26, is beginning his fourth stint at the Major League level tonight in place of Luplow, who injured his right hamstring sliding into third base in the seventh inning on Monday. Greg has split the 2019 season between Cleveland and Columbus, batting .230 (26-for-113) with 5 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR and 17 RBI in 45 games with the Indians. Around his tenure with Cleveland, he has batted.268 (53-for-198) w/9 2B, 3 3B, 5 homers, 17 RBI and 37 runs in 48 games (.358/.419/.778) for the Clippers. During his third stint, July 6-31, he batted .313 (15-for-48) with 8 runs and 7 RBI in 18 games.

             Today marks the first career placement on the Injured List at the Major League level for Luplow.
