MIAMI – The next generation of All-Stars is taking the field for the Miami Marlins Youth Academy Fall Tee Ball Initiative presented by CITY Furniture. The Marlins are joined by CITY Furniture in providing access to the sport for youth across South Florida, with each league receiving jersey shirts, hats, and equipment for players and coaches. The Marlins and CITY Furniture, two staples of the South Florida community, continue their impact with this initiative that alleviates costs and eases access to play the game of baseball for local youth.
This fall season features leagues from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, with 71 teams and more than 1,000 athletes taking the field in their Marlins jerseys!
“The Fall Tee Ball program further reinforces our commitment to provide access to the game with low and no-cost programming that brings our youth invaluable exposure to the physical, emotional and mental benefits from playing team sports,” said Caroline O’Connor, Marlins Chief Operating Officer. “We love seeing our future All-Stars take the field with big smiles on their faces and we are thankful for CITY Furniture for their support in our effort to provide opportunities for local youth to achieve success on and off the field.”
“Our community means so much to us at CITY. This is where we and our families not only live and work, but also play,” said Andrew Koenig, CEO of CITY. “We thought this was the perfect way to ensure our youth have the opportunity to play the game of baseball as they strive to become the next generation of local all-stars our community will be cheering for.”
The Marlins and CITY Furniture recently celebrated Opening Day of the fall season at several leagues, with Billy The Marlin surprising the kids and joining the festivities to make it a day to remember!
