Mariners Homestand Highlights September 10-15

Note: Fans should give themselves extra time to get to and from T-Mobile Park this weekend due to construction on Southbound I-5 expansion joints in downtown Seattle and closure of the Montlake Bridge for mechanical work.

Mask Requirement: All fans, ages 5 and older, are expected to comply with the latest Seattle & King County Public Health order requiring masks for all public settings with 500 or more people. Masks are required in all areas at T-Mobile Park including seats and concourses, except while actively eating or drinking in assigned seats.

  • Saturday, September 11 – Michael Virgilio, Seattle Police Department, Purple Heart recipient, and nephew of New York firefighter who perished on 9/11.

  • Tuesday, September 14 Former Mariners head groundskeeper Bob Christofferson
  • Wednesday, September 15 -- Members of the 2021 National Champion University of Washington Men’s Rowing team.

Friday, September 10 vs. Diamondbacks (7:10pm)

Salute to Armed Forces Night – We tip our caps to the men and women who serve our nation as members of the armed forces. The first 15,000 fans will receive a Mariners military cap, courtesy of Boeing. Specially priced tickets are available through an online only offer. Alaska Airlines Fly, Fly Away Friday – If the Mariners hit a home run in the 5th inning, one lucky fan has the chance to win 100,000 Alaska Air Miles.

Salute to Those Who Serve – Mid-way through the second inning, the Mariners will pay tribute to WWII veteran John Kenny. He enlisted in the Army at 17 and fought in the battles of Leyte and Luzon in the Philippines and served during U.S. occupation of Japan. After leaving the Army, Kenny helped organize a Troop Support program with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2995 that helped send over 22,800 care packages to troops overseas.

Saturday, September 11 vs. Diamondbacks (6:10pm)

Ceremonial First Pitch -- Michael Virgilio, Seattle Police Department, U.S. Marine, Purple Heart recipient, and nephew of New York firefighter who perished on 9/11.

First Responders Night – The Mariners join with MLB and the broader community in remembrance of the 20th Anniversary of September 11, 2001. Before and during the game, the heroism and service of first responders will be highlighted. Players, coaches, managers and umpires will wear New Era caps with a 9/11 remembrance ribbon patch. Lineup cards and bases will also carry the logo.

Season Ticket Member Early Gate Opening – Mariners best customers have early access to the ballpark by presenting their Season Ticket Member I.D. at the Right Field Gate beginning at 3:10 p.m.

Hispanic Heritage Day – The Mariners are joining with T-Mobile to celebrate the contributions of Hispanic identified individuals to our Northwest culture. Bailadores de Bronce, a Mexican folkloric dance group, will perform pregame, and the National Anthem and God Bless America will be performed by Elizabeth Galafa, a mezzo-soprano from Edmonds who is a member of the Seattle Opera Chorus. Paula Lamas, an Emmy-nominated anchor for Univision Seattle, will announce the batters during the first three innings, there will be a report on Mariners Latin American prospects including Noélvi Marté, Julio Rodríguez, Juan Then and Edwin Arróyo, and the Mariners will tip our cap to Alex Rivéra, who is in his 15th season as Spanish language play-by-play voice of the Mariners.

Washington State Recovery Day – The Mariners join with the Washington Recovery Alliance to celebrate individuals, families and caregivers who are engaged in recovery from substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Specially priced tickets are available for $19 for View Level seats and come with a Mariners Recovery t-shirt. A portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit the nonprofit Washington Recovery Alliance. The offer is available online only at Mariners.com/Recovery. MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Team Championships – Kids from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska will be competing on the field at T-Mobile Park after the game in MLB’s skills competition, Pitch, Hit & Run. Winners of the Team Championships could advance to the National Finals, to be held during

Native American Heritage Night – The Mariners join with our partners at EQC to honor the Indigenous Peoples of thehttps://mktg.mlbstatic.com/mariners/images/promotions/y2021/0913_nativeamerican_tshirt_100x100.png land where we work and live. Tributes include a performance by the Puyallup Tribe Canoe Families who are canoe builders, artists, musicians, dancers and singers, and a display of works by local tribal artists. The first 5,000 fans 21 and over will receive a T-shirt, courtesy of EQC, designed by tribal member Chris Duenas that features a Coast Salish themed Mariners “S” logo and the words “We honor our ancestors.”

Mariners Care-ROOT SPORTS Charity Night -- The Mariners are teaming up with ROOT SPORTS to raise funds for the Mariners Care Foundation. The online auction will feature autographed memorabilia and exclusive experiences. Proceeds will support the Hometown Nine, a fellowship designed to help break down barriers frequently encountered by student athletes, especially young people of color. Irish Heritage Night – Come out to T-Mobile Park for a little wearin’ of the green as the Mariners join in celebration with those of Irish heritage. Specially priced tickets are $21 for View Level and $35 for Main Level seats and come with a Mariners cap. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Irish Heritage Club of Seattle. Mariners Care Silent Auction – Fans can bid on memorabilia, including game used and autographed items, during a silent auction to benefit Mariners Care Foundation. Items can be viewed at Section 128. Among the highlights is a Kraken experience including two tickets to a mutually agreed upon game during the 2021-2022 NHL season and the opportunity for one person to ride the Zamboni between periods of the game. Proceeds from the Kraken experience will benefit the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Bailey-Boushay Housing Stability Project.

Roberto Clemente Day – The Mariners will honor Roberto Clemente and the team’s 2021 nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, which recognizes the player who best represents the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field. In addition, players, coaches, managers and umpires will wear a #21 patch on their sleeves in honor of Clemente, who died in a plane crash in 1972 while delivering supplies to survivors of an earthquake in Nicaragua.

Dick’s Drive-In Food Truck at the Hot Corner – Stop by the corner of Edgar Martinez Drive and Dave Niehaus Way for some grub before the game. The Dick’s Drive-In food truck will be open for business from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. with the full menu of burgers, shakes and cold drinks. Everything except the beverages can be taken into the ballpark.

Looking Ahead – The Mariners return to T-Mobile Park on Monday, September 27, for the final homestand of the regular season as the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels come to town. Special events include Fan Appreciation Night, Oktoberfest and Kids Appreciation Day.
