MIAMI – The Miami Marlins organization is creating a more inclusive ballpark fan experience with the debut of a new Mamava Nursing Pod presented by Florida Blue and sensory room at loanDepot park. Both new offerings became available for all fans beginning Friday, April 14, when the Marlins defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks to start the club’s second homestand of the season. The Marlins are the second South Florida professional sports organization to offer both services to guests.

  • The Mamava Nursing Pod presented by Florida Blue, located on the Promenade Level in front of Section 21, will provide mothers a comfortable and private space to nurse their babies while at the ballpark. The spacious pod will feature benches, a shelf, perfectly placed electrical outlets with USB ports, and a mirror to make sure mom is good to go before heading back to the game. To access the pod, fans will need to download the Mamava app to secure the pod’s digit code.
  • In collaboration with KultureCity, the loanDepot park sensory room located on the fifth floor - Legends Level - will provide a welcoming space for neurodivergent guests looking for temporary respite from the gameday atmosphere. The calming environment will boast fun items and activities aimed to stimulate or relax specific senses including activity panels, Yogibo bean bags, and 100% recycled acoustic carpet, among other things. To access the room, fans will first need to head to any guest services booth to sign in. Additionally, guests can visit guest services at the ballpark to request sensory bags, which they can take to their seats. The kits include fidgets, needs cards, mood cards and noise-cancelling headphones.

“We’re proud to offer these two new inclusive elements to empower our guests and provide an inclusive gameday experience with the Marlins,” said Caroline O’Connor, Marlins President of Business Operations. “During Autism Acceptance Month and throughout the season, we believe Baseball is for everyone and all of our guests should feel comfortable and at ease while enjoying the gameday experience and hope these integrations will further our ability to provide a higher level of customer service capabilities at loanDepot park.”

With Autism Acceptance Month underway, the Marlins will host nonprofit organizations including the Ausome Foundation, UM-NSU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, and HAAPE at loanDepot park, to provide them a first look at the two new additions during Friday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Both offerings will permit one family at the time of usage. For more information on the sensory suite and the Mamava Nursing Pod presented by Florida Blue, please visit marlins.com/specialty-rooms.
