Minnesota Twins Homestand Highlights: June 7-12

Division-leading Twins to host the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays for six games; Theme Nights, Promotional Giveaways and/or Ticket Deals available for each

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The first-place Minnesota Twins, who own a 4.5-game lead in the American League Central division, return to Target Field tonight for a six-game, six-day homestand through Sunday, June 12. The Twins open with a three-game series against the AL East-leading New York Yankees tonight-Thursday (June 7-9), before welcoming the defending East division champion Tampa Bay Rays for three over the weekend (June 10-12).

TWINS VS. NEW YORK YANKEES: TONIGHT-THURSDAY, JUNE 9 (3 GAMES)

Tonight – Tuesday, June 7 vs. New York Yankees (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • Prince Night: Co-branded Prince/Twins items, a collection of Purple One artifacts and a celebration of Prince’s philanthropic legacy highlight the club’s fifth tribute to the late Minneapolis icon.
  • Gate Giveaway: The first 10,000 fans in attendance at Target Field will receive an exclusive, co-branded Prince/Twins t-shirt.
  • Theme Night Ticket Package: Fans who purchase this special theme night ticket package receive admission to the game, along with an exclusive, co-branded Prince/Twins “Purple Rain” jacket. A limited number of special “Prince Night” ticket packages are available at twinsbaseball.com/Prince.
  • “Crown Our Prince” Mural: On their way to Target Field, fans are invited to visit the recently-completed Official Prince Mural on the Ramp A wall. Located on the SW corner of 1st Avenue and 8th Street, right around the corner from both the famed First Avenue and the Twins’ home ballpark, the majestic, 100-foot-tall piece from international muralist Hiero Veiga pays homage to Prince’s iconic living legacy. Prior to the game, Sharon Smith-Akinsanya, CEO of Rae Mackenzie Group, and Joan Vorderbruggen, public art consultant, will be honored for their work on the “Crown Our Prince” mural project and efforts to add the commemorative street name of Prince Rogers Nelson Way to the block next to First Avenue.
  • Prince Artifacts: A specially-curated collection of Prince artifacts will be on display inside Gate 34, courtesy of Paisley Park. Fans are invited to visit the one-of-a-kind selection when gates open and throughout the game.
  • National Anthem: The national anthem will be performed by recording and backing vocalist for Paisley Park Studios Kathleen and Rhonda Johnson and Chill and Lamont of “MFellaz.”
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Nicholas Nelson, Prince’s nephew and the grandson of the late John R. Nelson, Prince’s brother.
  • Charitable Support: The Twins will make donations in support of two organizations carrying on Prince’s charitable work and legacy: When Doves Cry Foundation, which seeks to provide shelter, food and clothing to needy and abused children and adults, while supporting music education and Christian education for children; and Love 4 One Another Charities, which continues to drive better outcomes for humanity by supporting a variety of philanthropic programs and initiatives aligned to the foundation’s core values of helping people up and helping people out.
  • Dollar-A-Dog Day: Fans can enjoy a hot dog for just $1 apiece at the Hennepin Grille and Taste of Twins Territory concession stands.

Wednesday, June 8 vs. New York Yankees (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • SKOL Night: The Twins are proud to celebrate #OneMN with the Minnesota Vikings! Fans who purchase this special theme night package receive a ticket to the game and exclusive, co-branded SKOL/Twins beanie. All-Pro safety Harrison Smith is scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, joined by his fellow members of the Vikings’ secondary.
  • Lou Gehrig Day: The Twins will recognize Lou Gehrig Day (formally celebrated across Major League Baseball on June 2 when the Twins were in Detroit) with pregame ceremonies to raise awareness of, and funds for, ALS research by honoring the strength and courage of individuals and families living with the disease. The Twins will host 100 families living with ALS, along with ALS Association staff and volunteers, for an evening at the ballpark.
  • The Fight Against ALS: Prior to the game, the Twins will celebrate Minnesota State Senator David Tomassoni, who retired following the 2022 session after three decades in office to continue his fight against ALS. Additionally, Randy Ryski and his family, also affected by ALS, will be welcomed to the field to share the story of their journey. A portion of Gehrig’s iconic speech will be read before the game, while the Twins will make a donation to the ALS Association MN/ND/SD Chapter in support of the essential services they provide.

Incoming NDSU President Dr. David Cook is scheduled to throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
