Major League Baseball and StubHub renewed their long-standing partnership allowing fans to buy and sell tickets with confidence on the secondary market. The new multi-year agreement is an evolution of the partnership, which started in 2007.
As part of its new model, MLB has established Authorized Ticket Marketplaces where fans can buy and sell tickets with the knowledge that the transactions are authentic and backed by the league. StubHub is the first MLB Authorized Ticket Marketplace.
“MLB’s new ticketing model is designed to put fans first,” said Noah Garden, MLB Chief Revenue Officer. “With our long-standing partnership in the secondary ticketing space, it is only fitting that StubHub is the first to join the new program. Our approach will give fans an even wider array of platform options to ensure that the tickets they are buying on the secondary market are legitimate. StubHub’s brand recognition and long-standing credibility will continue to represent an important place where fans can exchange tickets for MLB games with confidence.”
“We’re pleased to be continuing our valued relationship with Major League Baseball, with whom we’ve partnered for over a decade,” said Cris Miller, StubHub Chief Business Officer. “This new integration underscores our ongoing commitment to partnerships that give buyers and sellers of live event tickets wider access and reinforces that StubHub is a go-to platform for customers, including season ticket holders, to easily secure and sell baseball tickets.”
MLB will continue to form non-exclusive partnerships with additional secondary ticket providers to form Authorized Ticket Marketplaces, which will complement the league’s previously announced Official Ticket Marketplace.
