Major League Baseball and the Chicago Cubs today unveiled the official logo of the 2027 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard. The 97th Midsummer Classic will be played at Wrigley Field on Tuesday, July 13th.
The 2027 All-Star Game will mark the fourth time the Cubs have hosted the Midsummer Classic at Wrigley Field, joining 1947, 1962-2 and 1990. Wrigley Field, which opened its gates in 1914, will become the only active ballpark, and just the third ever, to host four All-Star Games along with Municipal Stadium in Cleveland (1935, 1954, 1963, 1981) and Yankee Stadium in New York (1939, 1960-2, 1977, 2008).
Overall, the 2027 All-Star Game will mark the eighth to be played in the City of Chicago. In addition to the games played at Wrigley Field, the Chicago White Sox hosted three All-Star Games at Comiskey Park (1933, 1950, 1983) and one at U.S. Cellular Field (2005). The City of Chicago has already hosted the second-most Midsummer Classics, behind only the nine hosted in New York.
Several Cubs All-Star alumni and other guests were in attendance during a special pregame ceremony earlier this evening before the Cubs hosted the Minnesota Twins. Among those who took part in the pregame ceremony were Hall of Famers Andre Dawson and Billy Williams; Cubs Hall of Famer Shawon Dunston; 2016 World Series Champion Anthony Rizzo; All-Star outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong; members of the Cubs’ 2027 All-Star Host Committee; and a family member of former Cub Phil Cavarretta.
As Wrigley Field prepares to welcome its fourth Midsummer Classic, the pregame ceremony paid tribute to the ballpark’s enduring place in baseball history, bringing its All-Star legacy to life by using the baseball diamond itself. Each base represented one of the ballpark’s first three All-Star Games and home plate symbolized the upcoming 2027 All-Star Game. At first base, a family member of Cavarretta represented the 1947 All-Star Game; at second base, Williams represented the 1962 Midsummer Classic; at third base, Dawson and Dunston represented the 1990 All-Star Game; and at home plate, Crow-Armstrong represented next summer’s festivities at Wrigley Field before Rizzo tossed out the ceremonial first pitch.
The official logo for the 2027 MLB All-Star Game is a bold tribute to Chicago and one of baseball’s most iconic ballparks. Centered around the legendary Wrigley Field marquee, the design celebrates a symbol recognized by fans around the world. The custom typography draws inspiration directly from the marquee’s distinctive letterforms, while the six-point Chicago star reinforces the city’s identity and civic pride. Cubs blue anchors the palette, complemented by the club’s signature light blue to create a look that is unmistakably Chicago. Proud, bold, and built for the game’s biggest stage, the mark celebrates the stars of baseball in one of the sport’s most historic homes.
“Major League Baseball is excited for historic Wrigley Field to take center stage as the host of the 2027 All-Star Game for a record-tying fourth time,” said Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr. “Chicago’s rich baseball heritage makes it a perfect stage for the game’s brightest stars. As the logo for the 2027 Midsummer Classic is unveiled, we look forward to collaboration with the Cubs, the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois to showcase the vibrant culture, iconic neighborhoods, passionate fans and enduring love of the game that define the Windy City.”
“For more than a century, Wrigley Field, one of the league’s two oldest, original ballparks, has connected generations of players and fans through a shared love of the game,” said Cubs Executive Chairman Tom Ricketts. “Every generation has made memories at Wrigley Field. In 2027, the game will add another chapter. We’re honored to welcome fans from around the world back to Chicago to celebrate the history, traditions and memories that make the Friendly Confines one of baseball’s most enduring homes.”
The 2027 All-Star Game will headline a series of events at Wrigley Field during All-Star Week, which has traditionally included the All-Star Futures Game and the T-Mobile Home Run Derby. Further details regarding events that have taken place during recent All-Star Weeks, including Capital One All-Star Village, community initiatives and ticketing, will be announced in the coming months.
