OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s will celebrate outfielder Mark Canha on Wednesday, Sept. 18 with a Hometown Hero T-shirt giveaway for early arriving fans. The bat-flipping San Jose native has career highs in runs (65) and home runs (23) this season, and is hitting .309 with 11 home runs and 29 RBI in 47 games since the All-Star Break. Canha extended his career-high reaching base streak to 20 games during yesterday’s win over the Los Angeles Angels.

NBC Sports California also announced that the 12:37 p.m. game versus the Kansas City Royals will be added to the network’s schedule.

In addition to the Canha Hometown Hero T-shirt giveaway on Sept. 18, the A’s have a number of family-friendly promotions during the final nine home games: Star Wars Fireworks presented by Chevron (Sept. 7); Bert "Campy" Campaneris Bobblehead presented by Chevrolet (Sept. 8); Mike Fiers No-Hitter Bobblehead presented by Chevron (Sept. 20); Evolution of Pop Fireworks presented by Lagunitas (Sept. 21); and on Kid Appreciation Day, a Ramón "Laser" Laureano Bobblehead presented by Call 811 (Sept. 22). Plus, kids can run the bases following every Sunday game (Sept. 8 and Sept. 22). 

Kids 12 and younger can also attend home games in September free of charge. For each regularly priced individual game ticket purchased, adults can add up to two free kids tickets.

Canha joins Bay Area natives Marcus Semien and Stephen Piscotty, who were each featured on Hometown Hero T-shirts earlier this season.
