Padres announce roster for inaugural San Diego Celebrity Softball Game

Softball game will cap off the 2024 Padres FanFest presented by SeatGeek

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres today announced the celebrity roster that will participate in the club’s inaugural San Diego Celebrity Softball Game as part of the 2024 Padres FanFest presented by SeatGeek. The game, scheduled for 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, will take place on the playing field and will serve as the finale of Padres FanFest. The game will showcase two squads, with Padres alumni Trevor Hoffman and Tony Gwynn Jr. serving as the opposing team managers. The list of celebrity participants (subject to change) include:

  • Alex Morgan – Two-Time USWNT World Cup Champion, 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, 2017 UEFA Champions League Winner and 2013 NWSL Champion
  • Drew Brees – Super Bowl XLIV Champion & Super Bowl XLIV MVP, 13-Time Pro Bowler, Two-Time AP Offensive Player of the Year, 2006 Walter Payton Man of the Year
  • Kelsey Plum – Back-to-Back 2022 & 2023 WNBA Finals Champion, 2022 All-WNBA First & All-Star Game MVP, Two-Time FIBA World Cup Champion, 2020 Olympic Gold Medalist, No. 1 Overall Pick of the 2017 WNBA Draft, Poway native

Other Padres alumni participants include Randy Jones, Mark Loretta, Steve Finley and more, with exact teams being determined closer to the event date. During the game, Padres broadcasters Don Orsillo and Mark Grant will provide on-field commentary for the crowd.

Admission to the inaugural San Diego Celebrity Softball Game is included in the free Padres FanFest ticket, with FanFest taking place from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on March 24. Fans are required to redeem digital tickets at www.padres.com/fanfest, which are available to claim starting tomorrow, February 16, with Padres Season Ticket Members enjoying priority access before the general public. Padres text message subscribers will also have FanFest presale access and can register by texting PADRES to 78469. Fans may claim up to four (4) complimentary tickets which will appear in their MLB Ballpark app by Monday, March 18.
