Major League Baseball and USA Baseball today announced the list of participating draft-eligible players, as well as a detailed schedule of events, for the 2024 MLB Draft Combine, which will take place from June 18th-23rd at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, for a second consecutive year. The Combine will feature 319 Draft prospects, including 193 collegiate players and 126 high school athletes, as well as a decorated group of former Major League players and coaches, members of Club baseball operations departments, scouting directors and other Club personnel. The Combine will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a series of medical and Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) performance assessments as well as educational programming designed to prepare them for careers in professional baseball. All players will have the opportunity to participate in a pro-style showcase workout, as well as strength and PDP performance assessments. Additionally, high school players will have the option to participate in games against other high school Combine attendees.
As part of the Combine experience, attendees will benefit from the opportunity to interview and interact directly with Major League Club general managers and scouting directors, as well as an enhanced medical evaluation process. Participants at the MLB Draft Combine will also have opportunities to be featured on MLB social media channels, in addition to receiving personal branding training and access to real-time content and custom video for their own platforms.
In addition to the Draft prospects, three members of the Commissioner’s Ambassador Program are scheduled to attend including two-time All-Star Michael Bourn, Jeremy Guthrie and 2009 World Series Champion Nick Swisher; who will work alongside two-time World Series Champion and MLB’s Senior Director of On-Field Operations Gregor Blanco; former Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates hitting coach Rick Eckstein; former Washington Nationals and Seattle Mariners manager John McLaren; former Major Leaguer and MLB’s Senior Director of On-Field Operations Dan Otero; two-time All-Star and 2003 World Series Champion Brad Penny, 2013 World Series Champion Jarrod Saltalamacchia and two-time All-Star Dmitri Young, who served as the manager of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2023 in the MLB Draft League. Former Major Leaguers Luis Alicea, Bruce Chen and Jeff Reboulet will also be on hand during the Draft Combine.
The Draft Combine is set to feature 19 athletes – including top prospects Braden Montgomery, David Hogg II, Jacob Walsh, Christian Moore, Trey Lawrence – who have been a part of Major League Baseball’s developmental programming including the DREAM Series, Breakthrough Series, Hank Aaron Invitational, Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities Program (RBI), High School All American Game and the HBCU Swingman Classic Presented by T-Mobile & Powered by the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation. Several of these athletes will be a part of MLB Network’s live coverage of the event, including Arnold (Jay) Abernathy, Myles Bailey, Ty Southisene and Cameron Bufford, during the on-field session on Tuesday, June 18th.

MLB Network will have exclusive coverage live from Chase Field on Tuesday, June 18th, beginning at 1 p.m. ET. MLB Network’s stable of personalities, including Greg Amsinger, Jared Carrabis, Jim Callis, Al Leiter, Albert Pujols, Dan O’Dowd, Harold Reynolds, Xavier Scruggs and Buck Showalter, will provide analysis and breakdowns as the players undergo their pro-style showcase workout. Pitching Ninja analyst Rob Friedman will provide on-site analysis and Marquee Sports Network Player Development Analyst Lance Brozdowski will contribute for the first time. Serving as special contributors, former players Michael Bourn, Nelson Cruz, Jeremy Guthrie, Scott Hairston, AJ Ramos, and Nick Swisher will contribute to the broadcast from Chase Field. Via Beverly Hills Aerials, the FPV Drone will be utilized throughout the coverage, plus interviews with players and Club personnel will be included. The five hours of coverage on Tuesday are also streaming on MLB.com, MLB.TV and in the MLB App.
The 2024 MLB Draft presented by Nike is planned for July 14th-16th during All-Star Week in Texas. The Draft will feature 20 rounds across the three days. The opening night of the Draft, which will feature 74 picks in total, will include the first two rounds, compensatory round(s) and competitive balance rounds at the historic Cowtown Coliseum in the heart of Fort Worth Stockyards.
