Participating players, schedule announced for 2022 MLB Draft Combine at Petco Park

More than 250 Draft-Eligible Players to Take Part in Combine Activities; MLB Network Expands Combine Programming with Live On-Site Coverage on June 16th-17th; Free Tickets for Combine Access on Friday, June 17th Available to Fans Now

Major League Baseball and USA Baseball today announced the list of participating draft-eligible players, as well as a detailed schedule of events, for the 2022 MLB Draft Combine, which will take place from June 14th-20th at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres. The Combine will feature 255 Draft prospects, including 137 collegiate players and 118 high school athletes, as well as a decorated group of former Major League players and coaches, members of Club baseball operations departments, scouting directors and other Club personnel. Please see below for a full list of players scheduled to attend the 2022 Draft Combine.

The Combine will provide an opportunity for players to participate in a series of medical and performance assessments as well as educational programming designed to prepare them for careers in professional baseball. All players will have the opportunity to participate in a pro-style showcase workout, as well as strength and performance assessments. Additionally, high school players will have the option to participate in games against other high school Combine attendees.

As part of the Combine experience, attendees will benefit from the opportunity to interview and interact directly with Major League Club general managers and scouting directors, as well as an enhanced medical evaluation process. Participants at the MLB Draft Combine will also have opportunities to be featured on MLB social media channels, in addition to receiving personal branding training and access to real-time content and custom video for their own platforms.

In addition to the Draft prospects, others scheduled to attend include Hall of Famer and seven-time All-Star Trevor Hoffman; five-time All-Star and nine-time Gold Glove Award winner Torii Hunter; two-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glover Eric Davis; 2001 All-Star and three-time Gold Glover Mike Cameron; four-time All-Star Dante Bichette; three-time All-Star Charles Nagy; 1986 World Series Champion Roger McDowell; 2013 World Series Champion Jarrod Saltalamacchia; two-time All-Star Dmitri Young; two-time World Series Champion and MLB’s Senior Director of On-Field Operations Gregor Blanco; former Major Leaguer and MLB’s Senior Director of On-Field Operations Rajai Davis; former Major Leaguers Bruce Chen, Courtney Duncan, Marvin Freeman, Brian Hunter, Jarrod Parker, Ray Searage and Fernando Tatis Sr.; former Major League managers Jerry Manuel, Bo Porter and Mike Scioscia, who won the 2002 World Series as manager of the Angels and led Team USA to a silver medal at the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan; longtime baseball executive and MLB consultant Omar Minaya; 2009 All-Star and MLB’s Senior Vice President of On-Field Operations Raul Ibañez; and MLB’s Senior Vice President of On-Field Operations Michael Hill.

MLB Network will expand its exclusive coverage of the Draft Combine this year with two days of on-site programming from Petco Park. Coverage will begin at 12:00 p.m. (ET)/9:00 a.m. (PT) on Thursday, June 16th, followed by six and a half consecutive live hours on Friday, June 17th beginning at 12:00 p.m. (ET)/9:00 a.m. (PT). MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger, A.J. Andrews, Mark DeRosa, Dan O’Dowd, Jake Peavy and Harold Reynolds, as well as MLB.com’s Jim Callis and Sarah Langs, will provide analysis and breakdowns throughout the coverage as the players participate in their pro-style showcase workout. Interviews with players, guest instructors and Club personnel will also be featured as part of the coverage.

The Combine session on Friday, June 17th will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. (PT) – 3:30 p.m. (PT). Fans can claim up to four free tickets per order at www.padres.com/combine.

The inaugural Draft Combine in 2021 was held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina and the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. More than 150 draft-eligible players attended the 2021 Combine, including Henry Davis, who also attended the 2021 Draft and was the top overall selection.

The 2022 MLB Draft is planned for July 17th-19th during All-Star Week in Los Angeles. The Draft will feature 20 rounds across the three days, including the first two rounds, compensatory round(s) and first competitive balance round on the opening night of the Draft.
