ANGEL STADIUM – The Angels today announced that Perry Minasian has agreed to terms on a four-year contract to become the 13th General Manager in franchise history. He will oversee all aspects of the Club’s Baseball Operations Department. As per club policy, no additional details of the contract will be announced.

“After an expansive process we are thrilled to announce Perry as our General Manager,” said Angels Owner Arte Moreno. “His background in scouting and player development along with his unique understanding of roster construction were the leading factors in our decision. We are proud to welcome Perry, his wife Michelle, and their four children to the Angels family.”

“I am humbled and honored to lead the Baseball Operations of the Los Angeles Angels,” Minasian said. “I am grateful to Arte Moreno, President John Carpino, and the entire Angels family for this opportunity. My family and I are excited to be a part of this community.”

Minasian, 40, was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in Arlington, TX. He attended the University of Texas-Arlington and has been around professional baseball since his childhood, when he was a batboy for the Texas Rangers from 1988-96. He then worked as a Rangers Clubhouse Attendant from 1997-2002 and transitioned into a scouting role in 2003. Minasian served as a staff assistant to Rangers manager Buck Showalter and the Major League coaching staff from 2003-06 before becoming a Major League advance scout during the 2007-08 seasons.

Perry and his wife, Michelle, have four children, Lola, Minka, Gemma and Cash.
