Phillies’ Taijuan Walker is making the pitch for fans to join him on Friday, August 11, at his ‘Tai’s Tacos’ pre-game charity event, aimed at helping children in the foster care system.
From 4:30-6:30 p.m., Walker will team up with Turning Points for Children to serve free tacos to fans who make a donation at his “Tai’s Tacos” truck, which will be located outside the Third Base Gate at Citizens Bank Park before that night’s 7:05 p.m. game against the Minnesota Twins.
Tacos will be provided (while supplies last) by the popular Burrito Feliz Philly, with event highlights also to include music by DJ Smooth and a special appearance by the Phillie Phanatic.
Walker will match any monies raised at the event. Since 2018, Walker has partnered with different foster care organizations, as he has been closely connected to people who have been a part of the foster care system.
Turning Points for Children’s foster care program provides safe and healthy homes for more than 900 children in the Philadelphia region.
