Tonight, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pirates Charities, in conjunction with AT&T SportsNet, will host the annual “Pirates Charities Game on AT&T SportsNet” as the Pirates visit the Kansas City Royals at 7:05 p.m. All proceeds raised through the initiative will benefit Pirates Charities and their support of local nonprofit groups.

AT&T SportsNet will broadcast the game from Kansas City with live segments from inside PNC Park throughout the event as fans are encouraged to visit pirates.com/charitiesgame to participate. Specially designed Pirates Home Run and Grand Slam backpacks will be available for purchase (while supplies last). In addition, fans can bid on one of two online auctions of Ballpark Experiences and Pirates Favorite Things Baskets.

This year's Pirates Charities Games will help Pirates Charities continue to respond to the needs of our community and assist those who are struggling by supporting area nonprofit groups. Throughout 2020, Pirates Charities has supported front line workers; hosted distribution events to provide food to those in need; distributed PPE to underserved members of our community; and more during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Pirates nonprofit arm has also continued to support youth by providing baseball and softball opportunities, supported our military members and lifted up those impacted by cancer. Pirates Charities is able to continue to aid those in need thanks to the outstanding support of fans and partners such as AT&T SportsNet. The 2020 Pirates Charities Game will raise the funds that will allow us to continue to do all of this and more throughout the year.

This year, fans can purchase backpacks two different ways:

• Online – Fans will have the opportunity to purchase backpacks beginning on Friday, September 11 and throughout the weekend, through Sunday, September 13. To purchase a backpack online, please visit pirates.com/charitiesgame. Online purchases will be available throughout the event as long as supplies last.

• By Phone – Pirates front office executives and other Pirates personnel will staff a phone bank during the game on Saturday to take orders for the Home Run and Grand Slam backpacks. Phone orders begin at 6 p.m. by calling (412) 325-4888.
