Pirates honor the inaugural Hall of Fame class

The Pirates return to PNC Park tonight to begin a 10-day, nine-game homestand highlighted by the first-ever Pirates Hall of Fame induction and pregame celebration on Saturday, September 3. Pittsburgh opens with a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays, in their first visit to PNC Park since 2014, followed by three games against the New York Mets and a three-game slate against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Friday, September 2, 2022 – Blue Jays vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (6:35 p.m.)

• Cancer Support Night – The Pirates and Pirates Charities are proud to once again host their annual Cancer Support Night celebrating, remembering and honoring those in our region who have been affected by this terrible disease. Various activations and special moments are planned throughout pregame and in-game to recognize local organizations, survivors and champions of those fighting. In addition, a number of moments are planned specifically for local pediatric cancer patients and their families in honor of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month (September). Pirates Charities will also make available to fans several ways they can support Pirates Charities cancer-specific programming through a 50/50 raffle, sale of dirt from the pitcher’s mound of Friday night’s game, a pop-up shop in partnership with jeweler Kendra Scott and other on-site opportunities. Fans can also purchase tickets to Friday’s game at pirates.com/cancersupport and select one of six local cancer organizations for proceeds from their ticket purchase to benefit.

• Free Shirt Friday – The first 20,000 fans will receive a “Raise It” Pirates t-shirt presented by FedEx Ground.

• Miller Lite Happy Hour: Fans can arrive early and enjoy the Miller Lite Happy Hour in the Crow’s Nest, featuring drink specials, live music and more from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, September 3, 2022 – Blue Jays vs. Pirates (6:35 p.m.)

Pittsburgh Pirates Inaugural Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony – At 1:00 p.m. the Pirates will unveil their inaugural Hall of Fame class at the newly installed commemorative wall located right inside of the Roberto Clemente Gate. Pirates Chairman Bob Nutting will be joined by President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Josh Rawitch to help celebrate this occasion. Families of Pirates greats will receive a replica Hall of Fame plaque and living members of the inaugural class, Dave Parker, Steve Blass and Bill Mazeroski will each receive a plaque and a Hall of Fame jacket. This ceremony is not open to the public but will air on ATTSN following the Blue Jays vs. Pirates game broadcast Saturday night.

Jim Beam Block Party - Head to the game early and enjoy a Jim Beam Block Party featuring live music, food trucks, drink specials, autographs from Pirates alum John Wehner from 5-6 p.m. and more.

Pittsburgh Pirates Inaugural Hall of Fame Pregame Celebration – The celebration of the Hall of Fame class will continue pregame in front of Pirates fans at PNC Park before the match up between the Blue Jays and the Pirates. Fans should come in early to enjoy a ceremony hosted by Greg Brown and appearances and a special first pitch by the living members of the inaugural Hall of Fame Class, Dave Parker, Steve Blass and Bill Mazeroski.

Pirates Legends Postgame Drone Show – Following the game celebration, the Pirates will continue to honor their Hall of Fame legends with a special postgame Drone Show featuring imagery from the rich Pirates history, presented by Universal Stainless & Alloy Products.

Hall of Fame Digital Collectible – Fans who attend the game, and scan their own individual ticket using the Ballpark app, will receive an exclusive Hall of Fame NFT, from Candy Digital. Fans will receive a follow-up email with redemption instructions.

LaRoche University Night – Alumni, students and fans of LaRoche University night will gather at PNC Park and enjoy an exclusive ticket offer, that includes a co-branded Pirates/La Roche water bottle and access to a pregame happy hour in the Left Field Lounge! A portion from each ticket purchased will benefit La Roche University.

• Boy Scouts of America - Scouts of America Night is a celebration of all Scouts across Western Pennsylvania. Those with tickets purchased will participate in a pregame Warning Track Salute.

Sunday, September 4, 2022 – Blue Jays vs. Pirates (12:05 p.m.)

Kids Day + Pirates Beanie: Get to Federal Street early to enjoy the Family Fun Zone with fun and activities for the whole family. Enjoy balloon artists, face painters, inflatables and more. Due to the early Sunday game time, Federal Street activities will be open from 10:00 a.m. - Noon. All kids 14 & younger will receive a Pirates Beanie presented by AHN, just in time for fall! Also, kids are invited down to the field to run the bases after the game, weather permitting.

Monday, September 5, 2022 – Mets vs. Pirates (12:35 p.m.)

Military Monday - Pirates players and coaches will wear special camo-inspired uniforms for the game to pay tribute to those who have served or are currently serving our country.

Tuesday, September 6, 2022 – Mets vs. Pirates (6:35 p.m.)

Pirates RBI Recognition Ceremonies – The Pirates and Pirates Charities will host the 2022 Pirates RBI Champions from the eight divisions of youth baseball and softball to celebrate their title-winning seasons. A special on-field recognition ceremony will take place during pregame, and teams will enjoy Tuesday night’s match-up from the World Series Suites. Pirates RBI is a program run in partnership with CitiSports and the City of Pittsburgh to provide access to baseball and softball to youth living in and around the city.

Wednesday, September 7, 2022 – Mets vs. Pirates (6:35 p.m.)

Robert Morris University Night - Alumni, students and fans of Robert Morris University will gather at PNC Park and enjoy an exclusive ticket offer that includes a cobranded Pirates/RMU water bottle and access to a pregame happy hour in the Left Field Lounge! A portion from each ticket purchased will benefit Robert Morris University.

Friday, September 9, 2022 – Cardinals vs. Pirates (6:35 p.m.)

Negro League Legacy Night – The Pirates will honor Pittsburgh’s rich Negro League history during Friday’s game. Both the Pirates and Cardinals will wear the jerseys of local Negro League teams – the Pittsburgh Crawfords and St. Louis Stars, a commemorative Crawfords t-shirt will be provided to the first 20,000 fans, thanks to Peoples.

Duquesne University Night - Alumni, students and fans of Duquesne University will gather at PNC Park and enjoy an exclusive ticket offer that includes a co-branded Pirates/Duquesne water bottle and access to a pregame happy hour in the Left Field Lounge! A portion from each ticket purchased will benefit Duquesne University.

Saturday, September 10, 2022 – Cardinals vs. Pirates (7:35 p.m.)

Zambelli Postgame Fireworks - Fans won’t want to miss the final Zambelli Fireworks night of the year following the matchup between the Blue Jays and Pirates.

Chatham University Night - Alumni, students and fans of Chatham University will gather at PNC Park and enjoy an exclusive ticket offer that includes a co-branded Pirates/Chatham water bottle and access to a pregame happy hour in the Left Field Lounge! A portion from each ticket purchased will benefit Chatham University.

Saturday on the North Shore - Today’s North Shore schedule includes a 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon college football game at Acrisure Stadium, followed by the 7:35 p.m. Pirates game vs. the St. Louis Cardinals at PNC Park. The Pirates are encouraging fans to park Downtown or at Nova Place. Fans with pre-sold or reserved access on the North Shore (Red 5A, Red 6, Blue 10 and Champions Garage) should arrive by 6:00 p.m. Access to these lots will be limited after this time.

Sunday, September 11, 2022 – Cardinals vs. Pirates (1:35 p.m.)

First Responders Day: The Pittsburgh Pirates are proud to honor the brave First Responders in our community. The celebration will include pregame recognition of our local heroes and a special ticket package featuring an exclusive Pirates First Responders Day cap! A portion of each ticket will be donated to the organization of your choice.
