The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced plans to host a unique online event for baseball and softball coaches and parents who are interested in learning more about their respective youth sports. The “Play at Home” virtual baseball and softball clinic is available for free to pre-registered participants throughout the weekend of Friday, November 13, through Sunday, November 15. The event will include two fun and informative Q&A sessions and a full day of educational clinics as well as appearances from the Pirates coaching staff, front office members and some of the Club’s top prospects.

Coaches and parents interested in joining the conversation are asked to register for the free webinar by Thursday, November 12, at Pirates.com/CoachesClinic. Space is limited and the clinic will be filled on a firstcome, first-served basis. Early registration is encouraged.

Many in-person activities have been placed on hold over the last several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which includes personalized coaching clinics and other educational opportunities in sports. Understanding a need to continue to educate and inform during this time, the Pirates developed this unique event to give coaches and parents a chance to take advantage of the organization’s many resources.

Seven 30-minute sessions are planned throughout the day and will include detailed tips and instructions as well a question and answer period. This webinar clinic will give coaches and parents the opportunity to hear from coaches throughout the Pirates system, front office members and several minor league players. Attendees are welcome to come and go as they please throughout the day, tuning in to the clinic(s) that best interest them. Saturday, November 14 sessions include:

- 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Pitching – Softball

- 10:40 a.m. – 11:10 a.m. Pitching – Baseball

- 11:20 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. Catching

- 12 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. Hitting

- 12:40 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Defense

- 1:10 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Analytics (Pirates staff member)

- 1:40 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Scouting (Pirates staff member)
