Pittsburgh Pirates to welcome fans back to LECOM Park

Team taking first steps to prepare for the return to play in Bradenton, Florida

February 1st, 2021

As the Pittsburgh Pirates prepare to return to the team’s southern home in Bradenton, Fla, for the start of Spring Training 2021, the organization today announced preliminary information as they plan to host fans at games to be played at LECOM Park.

The Pirates are planning for approximately 25-percent capacity throughout the ballpark, with tickets being made available in seating pod allotments of two and four per transaction. All seating arrangements are being made in accordance with health and safety protocols with the recommended six feet distance between pods throughout the ballpark.

The first phase of the ticket on-sale will be a special presale for Pirates Spring Training Season Ticket Holders and Corporate Partners. This presale, which will take place exclusively online, will begin on Wednesday, February 3, at 10 a.m. and run through Sunday, February 7, for the limited number of available tickets.

During the exclusive presale, Season Ticket Holders will be given first priority to choose their seating location for each individual game through their MyTix account on Pirates.com. Digital delivery of tickets through the MLB Ballpark App is free and strongly encouraged as the method for all fans to receive their tickets.

New Season Ticket packages will not be available for the 2021 season due to the capacity limits and extensive health and safety protocols.

Any remaining inventory for individual Spring Training game tickets will go on sale on Monday, February 15, at 10 a.m. online at Pirates.com/springtraining, or by calling (877) 893-2827.

LECOM Park is slated to host 17 games this spring, starting with the Home Opener on February 28 vs the Atlanta Braves. Fans will notice several important health and safety guidelines for the 2021 Spring season such as mandatory face coverings in-park at all times, unless actively eating and drinking, as well as a new bag policy that permits only medical and diaper bags to be brought into the ballpark.

The Pirates will continue to update the list of health and safety protocols, which can be found along with a full Spring Training schedule at Pirates.com/springtraining.    For more information on ticket on-sales or safety protocols at LECOM Park, please contact the LECOM Box Office at (941) 747-3031. Media requesting additional information can contact Terry Rodgers, Pirates Director of Business Communications, at [email protected].
