Arlington, Texas — The Rangers today announced the club’s July Minor League Award winners:
- Player of the Month – 1B Arturo Disla
- Starting Pitcher of the Month – RHP Evan Siary
- Defender of the Month – INF John Taylor
- Reliever of the Month – LHP Owen Proksch
Disla, 25, batted .337 (28-83) with 5 home runs, one triple, 9 doubles, and 23 RBI across 23 games for Double-A Frisco in July, leading Rangers farmhands last month in RBI and extra-base hits (tied, 15), while ranking among Texas League July leaders in OPS (2nd), slugging percentage (2nd, .651), extra-base hits (T2nd), and RBI (3rd). The first baseman hit safely in 18 of his 23 games, including multiple hits in 8 contests and a July-best 3 hits twice, while his 4 games of 3 RBI last month were the most in the Texas chain. This is the 2nd time this season for Disla to earn the distinction of Rangers Minor League Player of the Month, also claiming the honor in April of this season. In 99 games between High-A Hub City and Frisco this season, the Dominican Republic native has slashed .307/.399/.544/.943 (111-362) with 19 home runs and 78 RBI, pacing Rangers minor leaguers in hits and RBI.
Siary, 22, went 2-0 with a 0.92 ERA (2 ER/19.2 IP) and 27 strikeouts against 5 walks across 4 July starts for Single-A Hickory, earning Carolina League Pitcher of the Month accolades for his efforts. The right-hander limited his opponents to 3-or-fewer hits and one-or-zero runs in each of his outings last month, leading organizational arms (min. 4 GS) with a 0.66 WHIP during July. He was also named the league’s Pitcher of the Week for following his performance on July 12 at Augusta, pitching 6.0 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts and only 3 hits allowed. This marks the Havelock, N.C. native’s 2nd Rangers Starting Pitcher of the Month recognition of the season, as he also claimed the award in May. On the season, Siary is 4-3 with a 3.13 ERA (30 ER/86.1 IP) and a 1.077 WHIP in 18 starts for Hickory, his 2nd campaign with the Crawdads after he was selected in the 8th round of the 2025 MLB Draft by Texas from Mississippi State University.
The 25-year-old Taylor converted all 71 defensive chances for Triple-A Round Rock in July while playing 6 different positions in the month – third base (9 games), second base (8 games), first base (3 games), centerfield (2 games), shortstop (one game), and leftfield (one game). Since signing a minor league contract with the Rangers on June 26, 2025 following 2 seasons in independent ball, Taylor has produced an .809 OPS in 148 games within the Texas chain from 2025-26, rising from High-A to Triple-A. A native of Bend, Oregon, Taylor has recorded 56 straight games without committing an error since May 19.
Proksch, 22, registered a 0.75 ERA (1 ER/12.0 IP) and 2 saves with 3 walks against 21 strikeouts in 8 relief appearances for High-A Hub City in July, holding the opponent scoreless in 7 of those outings. The southpaw paced Texas farmhands with as many innings pitched last month in ERA, strikeout to walk ratio (7.00), and strikeouts per 9.0 (15.75), becoming the first Rangers minor leaguer to log an ERA of 0.75 or lower with 3-or-fewer walks and 21-or-more strikeouts in a single month (min. 10.0 IP) since Kumar Rocker in August of 2024 (0.42 ERA, 1 ER/21.2 IP, 3 BB, 35 SO). On the season, Proksch owns a 4-0 record with 2 saves and a 1.76 ERA in 27 relief appearances between Single-A Hickory and Hub City. A Southlake, Texas native, Proksch was selected by Texas in the 9th round of the 2025 Draft from Duke University.
