Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced the following transactions for players on the club’s Major League roster:

• Infielder Andy Ibáñez acquired by Detroit via waiver claim.
• Right-handed pitcher Tyson Miller acquired by Milwaukee via waiver claim.
• Right-handed pitcher Drew Strotman acquired by San Francisco via waiver claim.
• Catcher Meibrys Viloria acquired by San Francisco via waiver claim.
• Right-handed pitcher Jesus Tinoco assigned outright to Triple-A Round Rock.
• Four players activated from the 60-day Injured List: catcher/designated hitter Mitch Garver, infielder/outfielder Brad Miller, right-handed pitcher Josh Sborz, and outfielder Eli White.
• Infielder/outfielder Nick Solak traded to Cincinnati in exchange for cash considerations.

Ibáñez, 29, appeared in 40 games across three stints with the Rangers in 2022 (Opening Day-June 4, June 7-9, Oct. 6), batting .219 with one home run and 9 RBI. He spent the balance of the season at Triple-A Round Rock where he hit .255 with 6 home runs and 31 RBI in 73 games. The 27-year-old Tyson Miller went 1-2 with a 10.97 ERA (13 ER/10.2 IP) over 4 games/2 starts spanning three stints with the Rangers this season (June 10-15, Sept. 11, Sept. 27-Oct. 2). In 26 games/16 starts for Triple-A Round Rock, Miller posted a 4-7 record and 4.52 ERA (45 ER/89.2 IP).

Strotman, 25, was claimed by Texas off waivers from Minnesota on September 19, 2022. He is still seeking his MLB debut, and combined to go 4-2 with a 6.32 ERA (37 ER/52.2 IP) over 42 relief outings between Triple-A St. Paul (Twins) and Round Rock (Rangers) this season. The 25-year-old Viloria batted .159 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI over 26 games across two stints with Texas this season (June 21-Sept. 4). He saw the majority of his action for Triple-A Round Rock, posting a .280 average, 5 home runs, and 28 RBI in 54 games.

Tinoco, 27, posted no record and a 2.18 ERA (5 ER/20.2 IP) in 17 games/2 starts over two stints with the Rangers in 2022 (June 10-19, Sept. 1-end of season). He also made 35 relief appearances at Triple-A Round Rock, going 1-2 with 13 saves and a 3.27 ERA (16 ER/44.0 IP).

Garver hit .207 with 10 home runs and 24 RBI in 59 games before season-ending right forearm flexor tendon repair surgery on July 11. Brad Miller batted .212 with 7 home runs and 32 RBI over 81 contests, but spent three separate stints on the Injured List, including September 9-end of season with a right hip strain. Sborz posted a 1-0 record and 6.45 ERA over 19 games/1 start spanning 7 stints with Texas in 2022 before going on the Injured List for the remainder of the season on August 30 with a right elbow sprain. White batted .200 with 3 home runs and 10 RBI in 47 games for Texas, but never returned to the Majors after June 14 surgery to repair a fracture in his right wrist.

Also this morning, the Rangers traded infielder/outfielder Nick Solak to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations. Solak batted .207 over 35 games spanning three stints with the Rangers in 2022.

Following today’s transactions, the Rangers now have 34 players on the club’s Major League roster.
