BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today announced several personnel moves in the baseball operations department:
- Brad Pearson has been promoted to Vice President, Sports Medicine & Performance. He previously served as Director of Sports Medicine services from 2016-22 and Head Athletic Trainer from 2015-22. Pearson joined the Red Sox organization as an intern with Rookie-level Fort Myers in 2001 and served as a trainer for Red Sox affiliates (2004-08), Minor League Athletic Training Coordinator (2009-11), and Assistant Athletic Trainer (2012-15).
- Paul Toboni has been promoted to Vice President, Amateur Scouting and Player Development. He spent the previous three season as Director, Amateur Scouting, after serving as Assistant Director, Amateur Scouting from 2017-19. Toboni joined the Red Sox as an intern in baseball operations in 2015 before moving into an amateur scouting role in 2016, covering Texas and northern Louisiana.
- Brandon Henry has been promoted to Major League Head Athletic Trainer. He served as Associate Head Athletic Trainer from 2021-22, after spending 2019-20 as Major League Assistant Athletic Trainer. This will mark Henry’s 17th season with the Red Sox organization, having served as Minor League Athletic Training Coordinator (2016-18) and as an athletic trainer for the Portland Sea Dogs (2012-15), Salem Red Sox (2010-11), Greenville Drive (2009), and Lowell Spinners (2007-08).
- Andrew Mack has been promoted to Director, Baseball Strategy/Personnel. He joined the Red Sox in November 2020 as Assistant Director, Professional Scouting and held that role for each of the last two seasons. Prior to joining the organization, Mack spent six years with the Los Angeles Angels, ultimately holding the position of Assistant Director, Baseball Operations.
- Alberto Mejia has been promoted to Director, Latin American Operations. He previously served as the Assistant Director, Latin American Operations in 2022, and Coordinator of Latin American Operations in 2021. Since joining the Red Sox as a Dominican Academy intern in 2016, Mejia has held roles related to international scouting and player development in the Dominican Republic, Fort Myers, and Boston.
- Devin Pearson has been promoted to Director, Amateur Scouting. Pearson served as Assistant Director, Amateur Scouting from 2019-22 after holding the position of Assistant, Amateur Scouting from 2017-19. He joined the Red Sox as a professional scouting intern in 2017.
- Alex Gimenez has been named Manager, Major League Operations and Professional Scouting.
- May Peckham has been hired as Learning & Development Manager, Baseball Operations.
- David Herrera was promoted to Major League Assistant Athletic Trainer.
- Anna Clemson has been hired as Assistant, Major League Operations.
- Matt Sauers has been hired as Assistant, Baseball Operations.
- In Baseball Analytics, the Red Sox have promoted Spencer Bingol to Assistant Director, Baseball Analytics/Development Research; Dan Meyer to Assistant Director, Baseball Analytics/Player Evaluation; Jeb Clarke to Analyst, Major League Strategic Information; Kayla Mei to Analyst; and Joe Cronin to Clubhouse Analyst, Major League Strategic Information. In addition, the club has hired Devin Rose as Clubhouse Analyst, Major League Strategic Information.
- In Baseball Strategy/Personnel, the Red Sox have hired Aidan Donovan as Manager, Baseball Strategy/Personnel and Michael Cifuentes as Coordinator, Baseball Strategy/Personnel.
- In Baseball Systems, Connor McCann was promoted to Senior Developer & Team Lead. The Red Sox have also hired Eric Last as Developer, as well as Vince Fitzpatrick and Drew Paszek as Data Engineers.
- In International Operations, Amaury Garcia was promoted to Dominican Summer League Manager. The Red Sox have hired Edwin Rodriguez as a DSL hitting coach and Rafael Feliz as a DSL pitching coach. Former Red Sox player Pedro Ciriaco was hired as a DSL Instructor, and Ludovino Alonzo was hired as a DSL athletic trainer. Luis Cordoba was hired as a Panama Scout.
- In Player Development, Hilda Ramirez has been hired as Coordinator, Player Education.
- In Professional Scouting, Mark Heil was promoted to Assistant Director, while Margaret Zimmer was hired as Assistant and Joseph Curtis was hired as a Professional Scout.
